How to Wear Neutrals to the Office

How to Wear Neutrals to the Office

Hey everyone! Welcome back to POISED. Today we are talking about how to wear neutrals to the office. I love neutral outfits, especially for the fall and winter. I think it is the easiest way to look chic, plus neutrals can go with anything. You can pair neutral colors with other neutrals like grey, cream, and brown, or pick one color to create a monochromatic look. Either way, you are bound to pull off a sophisticated, chic, and poised office look.

If you've been dying to wear neutrals to the office but need a little inspiration, keep reading for more ideas on how to wear neutrals to the office.

  1. Monochromatic Look

My number one neutral look is monochromatic. I personally enjoy wearing a cream, brown, or black monochromatic look to work. It really is the simplest way to look pulled together and fabulous. Start with one color scheme, then pick one to two pieces within the same color palette but in a different texture or color hue. For example, try pairing cream faux leather pants or trousers with a slightly darker cream blouse or turtle neck, a tan blazer or coat, and nude heels. All of the pieces are within the cream family, but mixing the different textures and hues creates a polished, chic look.

  2. Neutrals with a Funky Accessory

I enjoy pairing neutral outfits with a funky accessory. Neutral looks can go with pretty much anything, so it is the simplest outfit to have fun with accessories. Try pairing a black sweater dress with snakeskin boots or bold statement earrings. Have fun with it!

  3. Neutrals with a Pop of Color

I also love pairing neutrals with colors. The best way to add color to a neutral look is through your shoes, handbag, or lip color. A bold red lip would be perfect for the fall and holiday season. Try wearing a cream sweater vest with green faux leather pants and crocodile boots to create a neutral look with a pop of color and a statement accessory.
